Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect only what is needed to run the marketplace:

• Account data: name or display name, email address, and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider)
• Listing data: title, description, price, category, state and district, photos and any document you attach
• Contact data: the WhatsApp number you choose to publish on your listing
• Pro data: company name, store slug, logo, cover image and billing identifiers from our payment processor
• Usage data: listing views, favourites, device and browser information, and basic log data

2. How we use it

To publish your listings, let buyers contact you, enforce posting limits, prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, process Pro subscriptions, and improve the service.

3. What is public

Anything in a published listing is public, including your display name, the listing photos and the WhatsApp number you enter. Pro mini-store pages are also public. Your email address and password are never shown to other users.

4. Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that host the site, store files, send email and process payments, and with authorities where the law requires it.

5. Storage and security

Data is stored with our cloud hosting and database providers, which may be located outside Malaysia. Access is restricted, connections are encrypted in transit, and uploaded files are served through a controlled endpoint.

6. Retention

Listings are kept while they are active and for a period after expiry so you can repost. Account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise your data unless we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons.

7. Your rights under the PDPA

You may request access to, or correction of, your personal data, withdraw consent, limit how we process it, or ask us to delete your account. Send requests to support@utaralah.com and we will respond within 21 days.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your language choice and store your favourites. Blocking them may stop parts of the site from working.

9. Children

Utaralah is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has created an account, we will remove it.
